May 16-18: Jane’s Walks in Haifa – get to know other stories of your city

Jane’s Walk is an annual festival of free, citizen-led walking conversations inspired by Jane Jacobs.

On the first weekend of May every year, Jane’s Walk festivals take place in hundreds of cities around the world. Jane’s Walks encourage people to share stories about their neighborhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and use walking as a way to connect with their neighbors.

The Festival takes place in Haifa starting in 2011. Haifaim will walk around their city telling anyone who wants to listen to a story about the neighborhood, the street, the house, the stairwell, the garden, the yard or the tree. As a pariticpant, you will get to hear stories, which are not written in the history books.

Jane’s Walk in Haifa is organized by Bat Galim Sea Defenders. Bat Galim Sea Defenders is a group of volunteers striving for an urban marine protected area and general awareness against marine pollution.
